
Rabbi Marc Aaron Kline serves as our Rabbi. Ordained in 1995, from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (1995), he served in the same capacity at Beth Israel Congregation in Florence, South Carolina before moving here in 2003. Rabbi Kline has earned a B.A. from Tulane University, a J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law, and a Masters in Hebrew letters from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion.
Rabbi Kline has taught Ethics, Philosophy, Religion and Government courses at the high school, college, and graduate school level for most of the last fifteen years. Rabbi serves periodically is an adjunct instructor at the Disciples of Christ Lexington Theological Seminary (Pastoral Care and Diverse World Cultural Worship), Transylvania University (Jewish - Christian Relations), and at the University of Kentucky (Jewish Thought and Culture). At Temple, he teaches in our Religious school, privately tutors each Bar/Bat Mitzvah student, and regularly runs a diverse adult education program.
Rabbi has served as Chair of the Lexington Fayette County Urban Government Human Rights Commission. His commitment to diversity sees him serving internationally on the Board of The Association of Reform Zionists of America, and more locally on the St. Joseph Hospital Chaplaincy Advisory Board, the United Way Get On Board Advisory Committee, and the Boards of the Central Kentucky Metropolitan YMCA, and the ACLU, and as Vice-President of the Interfaith Alliance of the Bluegrass. Rabbi Marc publishes a weekly Torah Commentary to an international E-mail list, regularly speaks in the churches and public schools on matters of non-profit vision and management, faith and diversity, and social justice. Rabbi has been intimately involved in the pluralism and peace process politics in Israel as long as he has been ordained.
