The Temple Adath Israel (TAI) Brotherhood is an organization of all adult men within the TAI community providing opportunities to actively participate in service to the congregation and the greater community, working on programs, projects, and volunteering that build relationships through involvement.
From the Brotherhood President:
Congratulations! If you are an adult male member in good standing of TAI, you are now officially a member of "TAI Brotherhood".
It was one of my goals, after being elected Brotherhood president, to eliminate Brotherhood dues. Building relationships through Brotherhood participation in programs should be the primary focus of Brotherhood. I viewed the dues requirement as a stumbling block.
Before making the decision to eliminate dues, I notified 2010 and 2011 paid members to solicit their comments. All who responded gave positive comments.
Doing away with mandatory membership dues does not mean that we will not need money to operate. There will be a line item on your annual Temple pledge form which says “Brotherhood contribution”, and the Brotherhood will gladly accept donations throughout the year. If we find ourselves in need, with good programming and member participation, donations will not be a problem.
Imagine what the Temple Brotherhood could be for the community, the Temple and most important, for you. Please let me know your thoughts, and together we can try to make them happen. Your active participation in Brotherhood is my #1 goal.
